KOTA Territory NewsSD honey producers might be eligible for aid

Producers who lost honey bees, honey bee hives or harvested and bought feed because of adverse weather on or after Jan. 1, 2008, might be eligible for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Livestock, Honey Bees and Farm-Raised Fish Program.
In a release, the USDA says the program also can aid producers who have documented losses of honey bees or honey hives due to colony collapse disorder.
Several deadlines apply, depending on when the losses were incurred.
