Harding County investigates rancher's death

Posted:

BUFFALO, S.D. (AP) _ The Harding County sheriff says his office is still waiting for lab test results to find out more about an area rancher's death.
Authorities say 48-year-old Blair Martin Hamilton, who lived near Reva, died of a gunshot wound Oct. 10 at his home.
Harding County Sheriff William Clarkson says the shooting was accidental and alcohol was involved. The state Division of Criminal Investigation is helping in the investigation.
Information in Hamilton's obituary says he was a high school rodeo participant who qualified for the National High School and National Little Britches Finals Rodeo several years in a row. He also competed in college and joined the PRCA in 1980, qualifying for 14 national finals over the years.
