Rapid City business may move to Sturgis

Even though Rapid City was rated the fourth best city in which to launch a small business, one company may be moving out and going to Sturgis.

Tuesday night, Meade County Commissioners vote on whether to give Independent Cycle Incorporated an economic development grant to move to Sturgis.

Independent Cycle Owner Jesse Jurrens shut down the Top Fifty Rally Park in Piedmont after people living there complained about it.

People who work with Jurrens said they've heard him mention moving his Piedmont and Rapid City operations, but said they haven't heard his decision yet.

Sturgis city administrators refused to comment on the possible move and Jurrens didn't return our calls.

The Rapid City Economic Development director said while the city would miss the business at least it would stay in the Black Hills.
