Wyoming woman killed in crash

TORRINGTON, Wyo. (KOTA TV) - A 19-year-old Guernsey, Wyo., woman was killed Monday night in a rollover crash on US Highway 85, near Torrington.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Regina Fairbanks lost control of her sport utility vehicle, hit a traffic sign and fence, overturned, and then hit a billboard.

Fairbanks, troopers say, was “unrestrained and suffered fatal injuries at the time of the crash.”

Driving fatigue and possible use of the cell phone are being investigated as contributing factors with the crash.

So far this year, there have been 12 highway deaths in Wyoming; compared to 10 last year.
