Wreaths Across America rescheduled for Friday

The Black Hills National Cemetery has rescheduled the Wreaths Across America ceremony, that was postponed last weekend due to adverse weather conditions.

It is now scheduled for December 23 at 8:00am at Black Hills National Cemetery, 20901 Pleasant Valley Drive, Sturgis SD 57785.
Contact: Adriene Benton, Cemetery Director (605-347-3830)

This holiday wreath-laying ceremony is to honor and remember our nation’s Veterans. The Knights of Columbus, Veterans service organizations and citizens are coordinating the event to honor Veterans of each branch of the military, the Merchant Marines as well as Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action (POW/MIA).

The Worcester Wreath Company, through a campaign called Wreaths Across America, began donating holiday wreaths in tribute to Veterans laid to rest at VA’s national cemeteries and state Veterans cemeteries in 2006.

Since 1992, they have donated wreaths for gravesites at Arlington National Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus is coordinating the wreath ceremony as a part of Wreaths Across America. For more information on this event, visit the National Cemetery Administration website at www.cem.va.gov.
