HOT SPRINGS, S.D.(KOTA TV) - Veteran's Day is coming up and the VA Black Hills Health System wants to celebrate all month long. To kick off the four weeks of events, they held an open house at their Hot Springs and Sturgis campuses.
Veterans, families of vets, and the public were invited to stop by the hospital to pick up information about what the health system can offer for the men and women who've served. They provided info regarding burial at the Black Hills National Cemetery, health care benefits, other programs, and the newest technology the hospital is using.
"Great new innovative services we have are with telehealth and they can learn about VA video connect,” said Teresa Forbes, Public Information Officer for the VA Black Hills Health Care System. “But there is a lot of different technology and integrated services that the VA incorporates into the veteran’s health care and mental health needs that they can learn about here today.”
If you are a veteran and want to get more information, or want to become a volunteer with the health system, call their main number at 605-745-2000.
