RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Poverity is a major problem in the Rapid City area and the John T. Vucurevich Foundation is hoping to diminish it.

The Prosperity Initiative was given a 600,000 dollar grant during the monthly prosperity coaches network meeting on January 8.

The group provides mentoring to individuals and families to help them escape from poverty. They focus on stability in housing, transportation, and childcare; which the Vucurevich Foundation says is important to Rapid City.

The grant will be used over the next three years.
