RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA-TV) It's a tasty way you can take a bite out of ‘the unmet needs’ veterans deal with every day.
For the 10th year the veterans of foreign wars foundation is teaming up with Burger King for the Unmet Needs Program.
Throughout the month of November Burger King guests are encouraged to donate a dollar with their meal.
The purpose of the program is to help service members and their families during times of financial hardship.
The donation is a small way to make a big difference in veterans lives.
“So, I've served on active duty for 12 years now. I['ve seen the hardships with the concepts of deployment that our military has seen over the years and that's put a lot of strain on these families. And they need that support. And, I'm proud to be able to offer that myself and assisting the community in helping our veterans,” Evan Farmer, with VFW Post 1273, said.
