RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Over 40,000 Subway restaurants are celebrating National Sandwich Day, Nov. 4, 2017, with a special offer for a good cause.
Restaurants are offering a “buy-one-get-one-free” sandwich deal with the purchase of a 30 oz. drink.
For every sandwich sold, Subway will donate a meal to Feeding America. In KOTA Territory, the proceeds from Friday will go to Feeding South Dakota. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, more than 41 million people across the country struggle with hunger.
“This is a world sandwich day with Subway, so they’re all across the world and each local area will receive the benefit of those sales,” said Debbie Renner, development associate for Feeding South Dakota. “We’re just again really grateful for their support and all of the community support.”
Last year, customers bought enough Subway sandwiches to make the largest single day donation to Feeding America, totaling 11 million meals.
