School custodians prepare for fall

The end of summer vacation is approaching. And with all the kids about to go back to school, the actual school buildings need to be squeaky clean.

The custodian team at Knollwood Elementary is hard at work preparing for classes to begin. They told us this time of year is by far the busiest for them as they detail the building from top to bottom.

"You know, when you first start out you're going,” said custodian Carlos Mejia. “But it gets even more intense this close to school because teachers are anxious to get back and get their rooms ready. So it's kind of a rush."

Summer is also time to tackle big projects. At Knollwood, they stripped and waxed the gym, as well as painted the entire interior of the building.
