Rush removes its head coach

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - The Rapid City Rush head coach Mark DeSantis has been “relieved of his duties” according to a release on the Rush website Friday.

The Rush had a dismal season, finishing with a 26-46 record with eight of those losses coming in overtime.

“We want to thank Coach DeSantis for all his hard work and dedication that he has put in during his time as head coach, assistant coach and a player with the Rush organization," Rush general manager Joe Ferras said in a statement released by the team.

During DeSantis’ term as head coach (starting February 2016), he posted a record of 38 wins, 47 losses and 21 overtime losses.
