RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - The Rolling Rez Arts bus put on the brakes at Racing Magpie in Rapid City.
The bus crisscrosses mostly through the Pine Ridge Indian reservation, but recently offered free art classes at Standing Rock.
The type of art taught differs with each featured Native American artist. Thursday, artist Micheal Two Bulls showed his print making process, transferring an inked image to a wood panel.
“I kind of narrowed my workshop down to doing a print making process called Xerox transfer,” said Two Bulls, “and I like to call it like the poor man’s silk screen because anybody can do it and it’s affordable.”
Rolling Rez Arts was created to deliver art, business, retail and banking services to artists and culture bearers on Pine Ridge who may not have access to such services.
