RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - For the second year in a row, a Rapid City business answers the call to help feed children over the holidays.
Pizza Ranch handed out certificates to 48 families so they can get a free large pizza or eight-piece chicken for each day of the 12-day long holiday break.
The idea comes from Hollywood film producer and Black Hills native Sean Covell. Covell heard about the need and saw an opportunity to help students on school food programs, teaming up with Pizza Ranch to create a solution.
"Our vision for Pizza Ranch is to glorify God by positively impacting the world we live in and this is just one way we could do that," Pizza Ranch co-owner Steve Cronin said.
The 12 Days of Pizza was such a hit in 2015, Sturgis, Spearfish and Lead/Deadwood joined in this year.
