STURGIS, S.D. (KOTA TV) The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is still months away, but motorsports are already heating up at the Buffalo Chip.
The Yellowstone off–road racing series makes its way to Sturgis this weekend for the Buffalo Chip 100.
This racetrack is four miles around, with racers reaching top speeds of 95 miles per hour.
Owner Brian Williams is excited to bring off–road racing back to South Dakota.
"South Dakota hasn't seen true grass roots off–road racing since the late 80's, early 90's,” he said. “Wanted to get trucks back out and show people how we like to go and have fun."
A parade of racers begins Saturday morning at 9:30, with races continuing until 6.
