RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) Rapid City’s North Middle School has landed a $900,000 school improvement grant.
Administrators plan to use the federal grant money to create after school and summer school programs to provide students with extra help.
The goal is that every student be proficient in their studies before graduating to high school.
First-year Principal Jackie Talley helped write the proposal and says she’s excited to get the funding.
“When we received notification that our school improvement Grant was fully funded I was ecstatic,” she said. “I was over-the-top excited about all the opportunities that we will be able to provide for our students and our families at North middle school.”
There is also funding in the grant earmarked for professional development for teachers.
