RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - 21-year old Maricelo Garcia and 19-year old Cierra Walks of Rapid City made their first appearance in court Tuesday.
The pair is accused in the murder of 20-year old Clinton Farlee in the 600 block of East Boulevard North last week.
Garcia is being charged with first degree murder and faces either life behind bars or the death sentence if he's convicted. He is currently being held without bond.
Walks is being charged with accessory to a crime and faces up to five years behind bars and is also being held without bond.
The state said Garcia is a danger to the community and said both Garcia and Walks are a flight risk as they fled to the Pine Ridge Reservation after the incident. Both have also been ordered to have no contact with Farlee's significant other.
They are due back in court for a preliminary hearing, however, no date has been set.
