RAPID CITY S.D. (KOTA TV) - One of Rapid City’s largest music festivals kicked off in the center of downtown.

The Hills Alive Christian music festival is back and the showcase kicked off at Main Street Square.

This marks the 32nd year since Christian artists began traveling to the Black Hills to perform.

The big Hills Live Festival featured performances from five different artists Friday night.

Hills Alive producer, Tom Schoenstedt said it's all about uplifting the people.

"There are a lot of different things that go on in our community that maybe some things aren’t as encouraging or lifting people up like other things,” said Schoenstedt. “We feel like this is something to really encourage people and lift them up in their faith."

The entertainment will continue Saturday and Sunday at Memorial Park in Rapid City.
