Color coming back to Rapid City parks and gardens

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Rapid City's greenhouse specialist and the staff at the parks department, are preparing to bring color back to Rapid City parks and gardens.

For the past several weeks greenhouse specialist, John Berglund, has been nurturing thousands of different flowers and plants at the city's greenhouse.

Crews will plant more than 42 different types of grasses and flowers, such as angelonia, marigolds, petunias, and even banana trees.

Berglund says he has a seventeen member crew helping him. Next week, Berglund and crews from the city's parks department, will begin planting in city parks and entry points.

There will also be a red,white, and blue theme at the corner of West Blvd. and I-190.
