Full Throttle Saloon sees growth from last year

STURGIS, S.D. (KOTA TV) - The Full Throttle Saloon was full steam ahead during this year's Rally.

After a devastating fire burned the old location down two years ago, construction on the new location started. Last year the bar operated, but construction wasn't complete.

Now, the bar is up and going, and they saw an increase of people compared to last year. The new place sits on 600 acres along with the Pappy Hoel Campground. The co-owners of the campground and saloon are pleased with this year's Rally turnout.

"Last year after the 75th was a down year and this year was overall a little bit better, but our growth was well over 115 percent growth,” said Jesse James Dupree, co-owner of the Pappy Hoel Campground and Full Throttle Saloon. “So we are very pleased and humbled that people would make us their home for the Rally."

The theme of the new bar is industrial, and it is meant to honor the men, women, and machinery that built America.
