The Playhouse Fire was spotted about midnight.
Local and South Dakota Wildland Fire resources worked overnight along with a privately-owned dozer operator. Additional resources are responding Friday morning, including Forest Service, Department of Corrections hand crews; and both the state Black Hat and Bear Mountain hand crews.
Good progress is being made on containment, according to Great Plains Fire Information it is now 35 percent contained and was started from escaped burn piles.
