Firefighters continue to battle Montana blazes

(KOTA TV) - Dozens of wildfires continue to burn across Montana, scorching hundreds of thousands of acres.

The largest is the Rice Ridge Fire, burning 135,355 acres north and east of Seeley Lake. As of Monday morning, the fire is 8 percent contained, without estimation on when it could be fully contained. There have been evacuations.

The Meyers Fire has consumed about 60,291 acres and also is just 8 percent contained. It is burning about 25 miles southwest of Philipsburg. Firefighters believe they will have it contained by the end of October.

Several fires are just being monitored.
