Feeding South Dakota receives generous gift

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Feeding South Dakota has received a generous end of year gift matching donation. Donations made online by 11:59 p.m., Dec. 31 will be matched up to 20,000 meals. Every dollar donated, paired with the match will provide eight meals to those in need.

The match donor, Chris Nelson has supported Feeding South Dakota for over ten years.

According to Feeding South Dakota, one in six children have trouble getting regular daily meals while one in eight South Dakotans is at risk of going hungry.

“We are always so blessed by our community’s generosity during the holiday season,” said Matt Gassen, CEO of Feeding South Dakota. “This end of year matching donation means that everyone’s support goes twice as far. We really can’t say thank you enough, not just for ourselves but for the children, families and seniors we serve.”

Feeding South Dakota provides meals to over 191,000 people across the state each year.
