RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Epic Outdoor Advertising seems to have won the latest legal skirmish with the city of Rapid City.
Epic and the city have been in a legal squabble for years over the advertising company’s electronic billboards.
Rapid City adopted a new ordinance five years ago that banned animation and full motion video on billboards, but that was after Epic had already been using video on their signs.
The zoning board found that Epic was violating the new law but this week the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court reversed that decision.
In a statement, the city said it will review the court's decision before deciding how to move forward.
