RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Pups around KOTA Territory had the chance to cool off and clean up Saturday, July 15, 2017.

The Humane Society of the Black Hills had two types of dog wash stations to help with their fundraiser for a new HVAC system.

Dogs enjoyed pools filled with water and shower-like washing stations as well.

While the dogs received a scrub down by volunteers from Ellsworth Air Force Base, their humans could enter a raffle, buy bandannas, or make donations to make improvements on the humane society of the black hills building.

Resource Development Director at the Human Society of the Black Hills, Jerry Steinley, says “all the donations from today or going back into our HVAC system so that something that was approved this year and we're getting that done September 1. So all the money we’re making at most of these events now will go back into that. That's for the air conditioning on the dock for so for the animals in the back."

The Humane Society of the Black Hills raised more than $1,000 for the HVAC sstem plus had food donated.

If you would like to donate you can drop off donations the Human Society of the Black Hills off of East Saint Patrick Street.
