RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - A troubling trend continues in Rapid City … vehicle thefts.
Rapid City police report that since Monday, six vehicles have been stolen.
According to Brendyn Medina, police community relations specialist, the common thread running through these incidents is that the vehicles were all left unlocked, unattended and with the engine running.
Three of those vehicles were stolen Thursday.
“Leaving a vehicle unlocked, unattended, and running is always a bad idea,” according to a release from Medina.
