RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - A car crash caused a massive backup of traffic on Omaha Street about the same time many people were on their way to work.
The Rapid City fire and police departments responded just after 8 a.m. to a report of an overturned vehicle on Omaha Street, just west of LaCrosse Street.
The vehicle rolled after being hit by a van whose driver was trying to westbound onto Omaha.
The driver of the vehicle that rolled had to be extricated, with the fire department cutting the roof off of his car. However, he did walk away without injuries.
According to police spokesman Brendyn Medina, the driver of the van was cited for no driver’s license, no insurance and for failing to yield.
