Buffalo Gap brings back an old tradition

BUFFALO GAP S.D. (KOTA TV) - The Buffalo Gap is bringing an old tradition back to life.

The towns 'blow out' event filled every corner of its old western roads.

"Buffalo Gap has tons of history probably more history than any of these other towns,” said organizer, Elray Rosaaen

There were vendors, a petting zoo and human Foosball games going on throughout the day.

The towns Saturday was filled with hot air balloon rides, a buffalo feed, street dancing and much more.

The goal for the daylong event is to revitalize the community.

"At one time Buffalo Gap reached clear out to the high way,” said coordinator, John Beard. “They never rebuilt so we're just trying to keep Buffalo Gap alive."

Organizers would like to see the ‘blow out’ grow in the coming years with a parade and rodeos.
