ATV safety

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV)
The experts at Rice Honda Suzuki said everyone that buys a new vehicle from them has the option for free training. And that, when driving an all terrain vehicle it's important to use common sense and know which way to lean. But they also say you can't always control freak accidents.

"It's always unfortunate because you don't know what happens in those situations but with the proper training and if you follow what's in the owners manuel on how to handle these machines, they're very, very safe," said owner Wade Rice. "But people can override the conditions, can not have the right safety equiptment. Many people don't wear helmets."

Rice also stresses that all atv riders must know where the kill switch is on their vehicle.
