A 6.2 million dollar highway reconstruction project will now include a water and sewer project.
Upper Plains Contracting Incorporated works toward obtaining a contract to rebuild the part of Highway 85 that runs through Belle Fourche. In addition to repaving the road, adding new curbs, sidewalks and lights, the project also will include rebuilding the 50 to 80 year old water and sewer pipes underneath the road.
Once the project contract is approved, it is expected to begin next year. Weather conditions will determine the actual start date.
