Woman involved in hills search sentenced

A Nebraska woman is sentenced for misprision of a felony.

Rowena Schade of Creighton, Nebraska, received a 6-month suspended jail sentence for her role in a grand theft.  Rowena and her husband Matthew Schade made national headlines last spring when they took their children, left Nebraska and spent three weeks hiding in the Black Hills.  Along the way, Matthew Schade stole a fire truck and broke into two cabins.

Rowena's attorney says she was under the control of her abusive husband.  She has since filed for divorce.

Rowena was on probation at the time of the, she spent 4 1/2 months in jail for violating her probation.  Her kids are now in the care of a relative. Matthew Schade will be sentence later this month.
