KOTA Territory NewsForest Service cancels prescribed burn

A prescribed burn scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, has been postponed for at least a day.
The U.S. Forest Service Picnic/Cavern/Kine prescribed burn will be in the Nemo area.
Fire crews began this burn last week and aim to burn 500 more acres this week.
The prescribed burn will take place in Lawrence and Meade Counties within National Forest Lands. Burn units are approximately 5 miles Southwest of Piedmont, SD near Steamboat Rock Picnic Ground.
Notifications will be posted along the I-90 corridor.
