Rest area bee-free

The Interstate 90 rest stop closed because of bees has re-opened without the buzz.

Highway Patrol Captain Kevin Karley says part of the swarm was collected by a local bee keeper, the rest apparently died overnight.

The Wasta rest area was closed Thursday morning when travelers encountered hundreds of honey bees. They were left behind when a trucker carrying a load of hives stopped for a rest.

The rest area opened Friday morning bee-free.

Karley says they haven't located the trucker who left the bees behind and he doubts they ever will.
