Drug convictions might undo SD prison reforms

Urban Institute report points to an alarming trend -- felony convictions for drug use rises three times higher than the increase in the crime.


Under South Dakota state law, when a commissioner is charged with a felony, they shall be suspended from their commission. That is why it was a unanimous decision for four Meade County Commissioners to suspend former chair, Alan Aker.
